Conti Family (The Fabulous...)

One of the coolest and most bizarre family band LPs ever! It's got everything but the kitchen sink - funk, disco, R&R, show tunes, patriotic songs, Elvis, Gospel, pop - the works! Featured on several "Annoying Music" compilations (not to mention NPR's annoying music program). I can see why (one example: daddy belting out Elvis tunes. Defies description). But surprisingly, the tune "Hey Boogie Mama" has been sampled all over the place! And "Great Jubilation" is a funky Gospel-influenced disco tune with wah-wah and a solid drum-bass break (Gospel goes blaxpoitiation???). Gotta be one of the only LPs in the world worthy of being mentioned on both annoying music AND funk sites. Packaged in that hideous dizzying cover!
