REAL PEOPLE & OUTSIDERS

Another staple for the connoisseur of bizarre vinyl, "real people" (or "outsider") records feature either the strange-but-true life story of some "ordinary" person, or the story behind the record (either the person's life or the circumstances under which the record was made) is so bizarre that the record itself becomes coveted (a few famous examples are Marlin Wallace, "Joyce", Mingering Mike, Kit Ream and Palmer Rockey - ample info exists about them on the internet and elsewhere).

Whoever coined the term "stranger than fiction" must have had these records in mind...
